Getting a customer or a lead to share their personal information isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Needing to put down an email or phone number may not be something they’re willing to do. And, if they aren’t willing, then how else can you get them to buy your products or services? You’re going to have to find a way to make customers feel more comfortable and secure with your business.
Offer Free Trials
One way to get your customers’ information while making sure they feel secure is by offering free trials or downloads. This gives them a chance to explore the great things your business offers, while simultaneously giving you the chance to collect their information which you can use in your email marketing campaign. How? In order for them to gain access to the free trial, they need to provide you with their name and email address. It’s as simple as that!

Don’t Be Afraid to Give Yourself Credit
Not everyone feels comfortable with calling themselves an “expert” or “the best person for the job.” However, there’s definitely a reason you got yourself to where you are today, and you need to feel comfortable giving yourself credit for that. Saying you’re an expert in the field and listing your experience and achievements will make your customers much more inclined to do business with you. So, don’t be afraid to talk yourself up! You deserve it.
Display Authentic Testimonials
Every human being wants to make sure that when they sign up or pay for a service, they aren’t getting ripped off. To make customers feel more comfortable, display authentic testimonials from your previous customers on your website. Make sure they don’t sound too over the top, otherwise, they’ll be harder to believe (and also just sound really cheesy).
Make Your Contact Information Visible and Accessible
Why should customers share their personal information with you if you’re not willing to do the same for them? Another way to make customers feel more comfortable is by making your contact information both visible AND accessible. We’re not saying you need to leave your personal cell phone number. But, having a business phone number that can easily be reached, an email you check often, or even a live chat on your site will help you tremendously with your CRM.
Don’t Spam Your Customers
Your customers have trusted you with their information. It’s obvious you’re going to use it as a way to market yourself to them. However, there’s no need to be spammy. Treat their information with respect and use it in a way that’s going to benefit them. They should be happy to see emails from you with offers or reminders of promotions and opportunities. Not emails pushing them to buy something.
