If you haven’t heard of Gary Vaynerchuk, then you should get this guy on your marketing radar ASAP. An immigrant to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union back in the 70’s, Vaynerchuk worked hard to obtain the American dream. Now, he works as not only an entrepreneur, but also an author, investor, and pretty much an expert on utilizing social media. If you don’t know Gary Vee, he’s worth looking into, but if you only have a few minutes to spare, then check out some of his tips to better your marketing campaign.
1. “People don’t want to embrace cultural shifts because it’s not going to happen in the next 20 minutes.”
Here, Gary Vee talks a lot about his feelings towards getting on board with new trends. In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s hard to gauge whether or not something is going to be “the next big thing,” or if it’s something that will just be a hit for a little while. Whatever it turns out to be, any good business needs to utilize all social media marketing trends early on, in order to not miss out on any potential leads. As we know, things can blow up very quickly (and die down just as fast), so make sure you are always paying attention to what’s going on.
2. “Brands mature over time, like a marriage. The bond you feel with your spouse is different than when you first met each other. Excitement and discovery are replaced by comfort and depth.”
This tip relates a lot to your CRM. You’re probably re-reading it again right now and saying, “Wow, that’s so true!” And, it is. When you first get customers, they are getting to know you, just like new friends or a new couple are getting to know each other. They want to learn about you because they are intrigued about what you have to offer. However, they may still be skeptical. Overtime, they will really begin trusting you, relying on you, and essentially “swearing by” your product or whatever it is your business has to offer. This is a very important part of your customer relationship marketing. Some businesses like to speed up this process, and end up losing customers in the process. Take your time with them, and you’ll see what can be.
3. “I’m pretty good at sticking to what I know. You don’t see me social commentating on health-care or presidential debates. I talk about what I know because I’m petrified of being wrong.”
When getting into the swing of things with your marketing campaign, Gary Vee knows that it’s important to stick to the point. We all know how easy it is to get on Twitter and Facebook and start raving about every topic there is out there just to get your name out. While it’s necessary to be active on social media, it’s equally important to leave aside the things you’re unfamiliar with, and don’t get involved with anything that could hurt your reputation. This also goes for your overall marketing and sales approach. You may think you know a lot about spreading the word of your business, but ultimately, it’s good to have a software like Mission Suite help you with a lot of the difficult tasks at hand.
4. “I don’t want anybody to not recognize how appreciative I am of the volume of e-mails I get.”
This quote plays a huge role in marketing automation, email marketing, and CRM. While you might not be the one getting the emails, there is still probably a lot of activity on your site; people reading things, signing up for things, buying things, sharing your product, etc. When you set up your marketing automation, it’s crucial that you really appreciate and thank your customers for their involvement. By ignoring leads and customers, you are doing your company a huge disservice.
5. “One of my biggest flaws is I don’t take advice.”
No matter how innovative your product may be, there’s no limit to how much you can do with it. Likely, there are people that have come before you who have had experience, and either they did it well, or they didn’t. Either way, they’ve certainly learned from it. In this case, don’t take advice from Gary Vee, and take advice from anyone else you can. You should listen to others, especially your customers, way more than you should be talking to them. Take advice. You’ll never know what it can do for you until you open your ears.
These quotes come from a variety of interviews and books written by Gary Vaynerchuk. He has been extremely successful in his life, and today gives talks and presentations that can really be helpful to starting or growing your business. He even has a TV show called #AskGaryVee.
Of course, not even Gary Vee can help you as much as a software like Mission Suite can! Request a demo today, and use these awesome tools to make the most of your marketing campaign.
